CAPTURING OUR CHILDREN’S HEARTS!
Regardless of the age of our children, we all need to throw on the brakes of everyday life and start spending more “Heart To Heart” time with them. Even if they’re not receptive to begin with. Even if trust needs to be rebuilt. Even if your children are grown and gone, your pursuit of their hearts must still go on! It’s time to turn the corner. To remember that teaching your children to love the Lord cannot and will not happen when you’re not loving them well yourself. It’s time to clear out all the hustle and bustle of everyday life that has created a barrier between you and your children. God has trusted you and me with a unique role and responsibility in our children’s lives! Are you too busy, am I to busy with our careers, our chores, our hobbies to invest and have time for our children and our grandchildren? Do we try to buy their love with gifts? Do we say, “I don’t have time, I have to see this TV show—go play with your toys. I want to watch this Nascar race, the NFL football game, this hunting program.” and ladies I haven’t left you out, “my soap opera.” God is saying to you and me, “I have given you these children, they are a gift from me!” In Psalm 127:3—He says “Lo Children are a heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is His reward.” We need to realize—Don’t leave this important responsibility to teach our children what’s right up to MySpace, Facebook, Video Games, Twitter and the school systems or the things of this world. It’s my duty, it’s your duty to teach them of an Almighty loving God who will never forsake them, never leave them, who sent his only son to die for them on an Old Rugged Cross that they individually have a hope and a promise, an eternal hope which is Jesus Christ and He is the same yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever, Hallelujah to the Lamb of God!
Love In Christ Jesus!
